Creating a Fall Breakfast
In our home, breakfast is a fend-for-yourself kind of deal.
I’m simply not a morning person, and ever since homeschooling entered the picture over 10+ years ago, I’ve become a slow-to-rise, lazy-mornings kind of mom.
However, I’m also all about trying to provide healthier options for my family when I can. So, needless to say, we don’t do a lot of pre-packaged cereal-type breakfasts.
I tend to make muffins, pancakes, and other baked goods in batches over the weekend and freeze them for the upcoming weeks, and I’m super excited to add some new fall breakfast recipes to the list.
From these apple breakfast ideas to the upcoming pumpkin breakfast recipes you will find below!
All that said, whether you are looking to create an elaborate fall breakfast table for your family or if you simply want to have pumpkin-themed baked goods to lean on each week, these pumpkin breakfast recipes can help you create the fall breakfast you desire!
Pumpkin Breakfast Recipes
So, as I’ve mentioned (like a zillion times) in every fall post I’ve ever written, I absolutely love fall, you guys!
From the smells and the tastes to the crisp air and the leaves changing.
One of the things I love most, though? Pumpkin anything!
While apple recipes are great this time of year, pumpkin remains my absolute favorite, and it’s a flavor I lean on year-round for baked goods — especially pancakes!
Eventually, I’d like to share some of my personal recipes here on Healthy Farmhouse with you, but for now, check out some of the top pumpkin breakfast recipes I plan to try out this season!

Pumpkin Spice Donuts
I simply couldn’t make a list of fall breakfast ideas without mentioning donuts, you guys!
While apple cider donuts tend to be the most popular donut treat this time of year, pumpkin spice donuts deserve a little love, too.
So, check out these sugar-free pumpkin chai spiced donuts – via i Hacked Diabetes.
These round sugar-coated treats are health-conscious and sound incredible!
You can make your own pumpkin-spiced donuts at home using almond flour, brown sweetener, masala chai spice, pumpkin pie spice, baking powder, xanthan gum, eggs, butter, vanilla extract, pumpkin puree, and a sugar substitute.
Not only is this recipe a low-carb, no-sugar treat, but it’s also considered gluten-free and diabetic-friendly!

Pumpkin Pancakes and Waffles
I’m going to be honest, while I do occasionally love an apple cider or pumpkin spice donut this time of year, my true love is pancakes (and technically French toast, but I rarely get that treat).
So, needless to say, I’m thoroughly excited to try this next recipe!
While not listed first on my pumpkin breakfast recipes list, this pumpkin protein pancakes recipe – via Food Plus Words is hands down the one I’m most excited to try this fall!
Not only is it gluten-friendly, but it’s also protein-packed!
These pancakes are made using old-fashioned rolled oats, pumpkin puree, eggs, cottage cheese, maple syrup, pumpkin pie spice, baking powder, salt, and walnuts for garnish.
YUM!
If you’re in need of a similar recipe but prefer flour to oats, consider trying these cottage cheese pumpkin pancakes (not pictured) – via Mad About Macarons instead.
This recipe calls for cottage cheese, eggs, all-purpose flour, baking powder, pumpkin puree, oat bran (optional), salt, pumpkin spice, and oil or butter.
If you love pancakes, you are sure to love these pumpkin waffles – via Basics with Bails as well!
While I generally like to lean on (and share) fully-homemade recipes, having an easy one like this to lean on is a great option on busy days!
This health-conscious semi-homemade recipe is created using Bob’s Red Mill pancake mix, pumpkin puree, egg, almond milk, pumpkin pie spice, and vanilla extract.
Easy peasy, and delicious!

Pumpkin Breakfast Bowls
While I’ve never been much of a breakfast bowl kind of gal, my kiddos have always loved oatmeal during the fall and winter months!
So, these next 2 recipes are for those who crave a good, hearty bowl of something warm and delicious on a crisp morning.
First up, this pumpkin breakfast bowl – via Happy Food Healthy Life.
This recipe calls for rolled oats, flaxseed, wheat germ, chia seeds, pumpkin spice, dairy-free yogurt, pumpkin puree, cinnamon, maple syrup, and pecans for garnish.
While not a gluten-free option, it is dairy-free and sounds like an amazing option for cool mornings!
Since my daughter and I are strictly gluten-free, I will have to mix this one up a bit to fit our diet specifications.
Lastly, we have this pumpkin pie oatmeal – via The Feathered Nester.
This one calls for rolled oats, pumpkin puree, eggs, maple syrup, pumpkin pie spice, baking powder, and turbinado sugar — making it a great option for those needing gluten-friendly options!
This one will definitely be on our try list!
