Apple Season is Here

It’s September, which means apple season has officially arrived!

Not going to lie, fall has always, always been my favorite, you guys!

From making apple cider with my kiddos to enjoying apple cider donuts with my coffee, I love to kick off this new season the right way — with apple everything!

So, if you love all things apple as I do, but need some healthier options this fall, this one is totally for you!

Healthy Apple Recipes

With 2 busy young adult male sons, a husband with a love of Dr. Pepper, and a daughter with an autoimmune disease, I am always on the lookout for healthier options for my family!

That said, I’m also all about the fall flavors this time of year, you guys!

So, needless to say, I’ve been on the lookout for some healthier fall options — apples included.

Just Apples

While I found a ton of great fall recipes to share with you guys, some super healthy and others not so much, I wanted to keep this one healthy and all about the apple.

That said, some of these recipes do include added sweeteners, which I typically try to stay away from. Keep in mind that sugar can usually be swapped for alternative sweeteners or skipped altogether.

Either way, these are the just apple recipes I found and look forward to trying over the next couple of months.

Check them out!

Healthy baked whole apple recipe

First up, these baked whole apples – via Refresh My Health.

This healthy fall treat is one of the easiest, as the recipe only calls for 4 simple ingredients!

Using only golden apples, cinnamon powder, vanilla powder, and dark chocolate, you can bake up this apple-yum in no time!

Healthy baked apple slices in bowl

Next up, another baked apple recipe you are sure to love!

These baked cinnamon apple slices – via Vibrantly G Free can be created with even fewer ingredients than those delightful whole baked apples mentioned above!

Using only apples, cinnamon, and a touch of maple syrup (definitely one of my favorite sweeteners), you can create a sweet dessert worthy treat for the whole family.

Red bowl of healthy homemade applesauce

This next one is for the kiddos (and grown kiddos alike)!

Re-create a childhood favorite with this slow-cooker applesauce – via Strength and Sunshine. Before touching on the ingredients, I just want to say that this is one of my favorite blogs to share from because it’s always health-conscious and allergy-friendly — which is a huge must in our home now!

All that said, this recipe is another simple one as it only calls for a variety of apples, lemon juice, water, and cinnamon.

Easy, peasy!

While not this exact recipe, I’ve actually made slow-cooker apple sauce every fall as far back as I can remember! That said, I’ve always sugar-sweetened mine, and the idea of skipping the sugar this time around totally intrigues me, you guys!

Fried apples in bowl of yogurt

Finally, we have these air fryer apples – via Maria Lucey Dietitian.

First, can I just say these look darn good?

These bad boys are made in the air fryer, using apples, avocado oil, maple syrup, cinnamon, nutmeg, and ginger, and not only look good, but sound amazing, you guys!

Definitely adding this one to my fall menu!

Apple Snacks

While baked, slow-cooked, and even air-fried apples are great, sometimes you just need a crunchy snack.

These apple snacks are the perfect go-to for healthier after-school snacking or as a late-night treat.

Healthy apple chip recipe in white bowl

These apple chips – via Ask the Food Geek.

You can throw these together in no time using just a handful of ingredients — apples, brown sugar, cinnamon, and lemon juice powder.

While the recipe has simple instructions for baking apple chips in the oven and includes an added sweetener (brown sugar), you could easily mix things up by making them in a dehydrator or skipping the brown sugar altogether!

We’ve personally tried that method, and they are still so good, you guys!

Bowl of apples and bananas

While just apples are great, sometimes apples can use a little help from a friend, am I right?

These next 2 recipes are healthy apple treats the entire family will approve of!

Check them out!

First up, this raw cinnamon apple bowl – via Refresh My Health.

This bowl is a healthy option for anytime snacking and can be created using bananas, apples, coconut chips, cinnamon, and cardamom!

healthy nacho recipe made using apples with chocolate drizzle

Last, but certainly not least, are these apple nachos – via PCOS Nutritionalist Alyssa.

I hate to admit it, but I have never in my life created apple nachos, and I can’t help but feel like I’m missing out on something huge here!

As a huge lover of dipping my apples in peanut butter and honey, this just sounds incredible to me!

You can throw these nachos together for a quick afternoon snack or use a health-conscious dessert using apples, peanut butter, dark chocolate chips, coconut oil, chopped nuts, and coconut flakes.

Talk about YUM!
