Healthy Grilled Salmon

Salmon is one of the most common fish to incorporate into healthier lifestyles and diets.

It’s known for its pink-red color and the many nutritious health benefits it provides, making this fish a powerhouse.

I feel like salmon is more of an acquired taste, and it personally took me a while to get used to it.

That said, my appetite for salmon was also slightly skewed since the sheer smell of cooked salmon made me gag during my first pregnancy.

However, over the years, I have slowly started to incorporate salmon into my diet again, and I now officially serve it up in my kitchen regularly!

Healthy Grilled Salmon Recipes

While I cook salmon fairly often these days, I’ve only ever baked it in the oven.

So, tossing it on the grill alongside other grilled seafood totally intrigues me.

All that said, I tend to be more of an experimenter in the kitchen, so my baked salmon rarely comes out the same.

This is such a double-edged sword, you guys!

Sometimes it’s awesome because I create something ah-freaking-mazing!

Other times it sucks because I forget to write down how I made my new creation and when a family member asks for it, I can’t replicate it exacty.

While that’s my personal kitchen dilemma, my husband is anti-experiments when it comes to cooking, baking, or grilling.

So, needless to say, I’m passing the torch to him for this one since grilling is his game anyway!

I’m super excited to try some of these tasty grilled salmon recipes this summer!

  • Traeger Salmon

When I first came across this recipe, I was like, “What is Traeger salmon?”.

Not going to lie, you guys, I totally thought it was a type of salmon I had never heard of before!

Jokes one me though I guess cause Traeger is actually a brand of pellet stove — go figure!

However you choose to cook it, this Traeger grilled salmon – via Simple and Fraiche, sounds pretty darn amazing, you guys!

This recipe includes many health-conscious ingredients such as wild-caught salmon, lemon, herbs, and, surprisingly, one of my favorites (that I rarely find in recipes), ghee!

While the original recipe is cooked on a Traeger pellet stove, I would imagine it can easily be cooked on a traditional grill as well.

  • Herb Salmon

Recipes with herbs are my jam, you guys!

I absolutely love cooking with herbs, adding them to my afternoon tea, and keeping them stocked in my kitchen.

That said, this herb grilled salmon – via Modern Bites, is one I simply can’t wait to try!

While this recipe is technically an Olive Garden copycat recipe (which, let’s face it, isn’t exactly known as a healthy eating establishment), it sounds absolutely heavenly!

This recipe includes staple pantry and fringe ingredients such as butter, lemon, and herbs.

Personally, I don’t eat at Olive Garden (anymore), but I would totally eat this with some grilled vegetables, you guys!

  • Lemon Salmon

I’ve said it before, and I will say it again, lemon just goes with seafood and fish.

Thinly sliced salmon fillets with lemon wedges

This lemon grilled salmon – via Little Sunny Kitchen, is what I would consider a more traditional take on salmon, only grilled instead of baked.

A little butter, lemon, and some seasonings, and you’re good to go!

What an easy option for healthier grilling.

  • Coconut Salmon

I’ve heard of coconut shrimp before, but coconut salmon is a new one for me!

Salmon skewers with bowl of dipping sauce

That said, these coconut salmon skewersvia Foodess, sound so good!

This recipe brings a unique twist to traditional grilled skewers, not only by using salmon but also by giving it a Thai flair due to the coconut and peanut butter components!

Plus, it uses other incredible ingredients such as coconut milk, ginger, and turmeric — all of which are staples in my daughter’s limited diet!

While I tend to skip recipes that call for added sugar (this one uses brown sugar), I will likely just swap that out for some honey because I want to try this one so bad, you guys!

  • Avacado Salmon

Avocados are a staple in my diet.

From guacamole to my favorite salad, I could eat these green guys every single day!

Grilled salmon fillet with avocado salsa

This grilled salmon with avocado salsa – via Foodess, might just be the one I’m looking most forward to trying, you guys!

Not only is it super unique, but it includes some tasty health-conscious ingredients such as cucumber, melon, avocado, jalapeño, and shallots.

While the salmon recipe itself is pretty basic, the salsa included in the recipe is what takes it up a notch!

This one has a great mixture of ingredients and nutrients, and I’m already a huge fan!
