From the fall scents to the incredible food.

Perfect fall (Thanksgiving) dinner plate. Square plate with turkey, gravy, sides, and topped with a fresh roll.

All that said, Thanksgiving is the ultimate fall food, and I always look forward to it every year!

From cooking in our home to creating a Thanksgiving masterpiece meal in our RV, I always look forward to this iconic meal.

This year, however, I’m excited to mix up the plate by adding some new recipes to the mix — like a butternut squash side dish.

10 Butternut Squash Dinner Recipes

While Thanksgiving is my ultimate fav and I look forward to some of the epic side dishes, this post is all about the main course, you guys!

I’ve recently tried a new butternut soup recipe, which made a pretty great entree, and I’m definitely looking forward to trying some of these recipes as well.

Check out these 10 butternut squash dinner recipes that I can’t wait to get on my own dinner table.

Stuffed Butternut Squash

I’ve roasted a whole butternut squash before, but I’ve never stuffed one.

These next 3 recipes are just that — stuffed butternut squash.

Not only do these recipes look amazing, but they sound incredible and I can’t wait to try them!

Stuffed butternut squash dinner recipe: 4 butternut squash halves filled with rice mixture and topped with cranberries.

First up, this beautifully presented stuffed butternut squash – via Ooh La La it’s Vegan.

This recipe calls for a wide range of health-conscious ingredients.

It can be prepared at home using butternut squash, wild rice, vegetable broth, olive oil, cumin, garlic, celery, onion, mushrooms, apple, pecans, sage, thyme, rosemary, kale, salt, and pepper.

To top it off, use some cranberries and fresh herbs.

I’m a huge fan of anything involving cranberries and sage this time of year, so this one definitely nears the top of my try list.

Next up in our stuffed category is this sausage-stuffed butternut squash – via Dutch Oven Daddy.

This is what I consider to be a stuffed squash for meat lovers.

You can create this savory meat-filled gourd using butternut squash, olive oil, maple syrup, Italian sausage, onion, mushrooms, curry powder, cinnamon, cayenne pepper, garlic, salt and pepper, sage, thyme, parsley, wild rice, and dried cranberries.

My husband (who’s not exactly a healthy eater or squash lover) would definitely vote for this one, you guys!

Last, but certainly not least, we have this semi-stuffed feta butternut squash – via Candy Floss Life.

This one sounds simple and looks incredible.

You can put this recipe together using butternut squash, pearl barley, shallots, garlic, kale, feta cheese, chickpeas, olive oil, salt and pepper, rosemary and thyme, lemon juice, and pistachios.

Butternut Squash Casseroles

Casseroles make the perfect meal option for busy weeknights!

They are also a great way to get your entree and sides all in one, leaving you with only one dish to clean.

These next 3 butternut squash dinner ideas are casserole or, at the very least, casserole-ish.

You can create this one-dish wonder using a wild rice and brown rice blend, chicken thighs, olive oil, kosher salt, pepper, butternut squash, onion, fresh thyme, dried cranberries, parmesan cheese, and pecans or walnuts.

This one sounds like an easy health-conscious meal for leading up to Thanksgiving, you guys!

These butternut squash enchiladas – via When Salty and Sweet Unite are made using avocado oil, red onion, red bell pepper, garlic, black beans, butternut squash, cilantro, Mexican cheese, avocado oil spray, tortillas, enchilada sauce, ground cumin, sweet paprika, oregano, granulated garlic, ground coriander, kosher salt, and a little cayenne pepper.

Talk about YUM! As a huge fan of Mexican food (and squash), I totally want to give this one a try!

Butternut Squash Bowls

While I always love the idea of a good casserole, sometimes dinner bowls are just as good, you guys!

From butternut squash soups to chili and risotto.

These next 4 recipes sound cozy and perfect for this time of year.

Not only does this recipe call for butternut squash, but it also includes cooked chicken, brussels sprouts, rice, goat cheese, pecans, olive oil (or avocado spray, and salt and pepper.

To top things off, there is also a dressing recipe (maple syrup, tahini, red wine (or apple cider vinegar), juice, salt, and pepper) that takes this whole bowl up a level!

This one sounds so good!

Cook this one up in your own kitchen using butternut squash, olive oil, salt and pepper, chicken stock, salted butter, bacon, onion, garlic, arborio rice, dry white wine, parsley, and parmesan cheese.

I totally feel like this would make a great fall comfort food, you guys!

While I’m not the biggest chili fan, I do enjoy a good bowl from time to time, and this slow cooker butternut squash chili – via Spend with Pennies looks incredible!

Enjoy this fall-inspired chili using butternut squash, chicken broth, canned beans, diced tomatoes, bell peppers, onion, garlic, chili powder, cumin, ground ginger, salt, and pepper.

This one is totally perfect for cold or rainy evenings!

This spicy bowl has the longest ingredients list of all and calls for onions, garlic, ginger, tomato purée, brown sugar, salt, garam masala, cumin, turmeric, paprika, cayenne pepper, vegetable stock, chickpeas, butternut squash, potatoes, bell peppers, bay leaf, cassia bark (or cinnamon stick), coconut cream, spinach, salt and pepper, chili flakes, lime wedges, and cilantro/coriander leaves for garnish.

While a little more complex ingredients-wise, it is made using the slow cooker, making it a great option any day of the week!
